When should I book my newborn shoot?

The style of newborn photography that I do needs to be done ideally in the first 10 days. This will help to achieve those sleepy, curled up poses you can't help but love. Ideally if you can book your due date in a few months in advance to ensure I can get you in as typically my calendar is full for 2-3 months in advance. However if you stumble across my site and have just had your Bundle of Joy please contact me and I will always try my best to get you in.

What do I do once my baby is born?

Once your baby has arrived, the important thing to do is to contact me within 2 days after the delivery so that I can have as much time as possible to schedule your session. When possible I like to aim for 5-7 days.

How long will the session take?

I book a whole day out for your newborn session so you will never feel rushed. These things take time and all babies are different, some are more sensitive to handling than others. I have done shoots that have lasted 2hours but most take longer and can sometimes take up to 5hours. This is all in the comfort of our home studio and it has been knows for my clients to take a snooze on the sofa during a shoot!

How do I prepare for my newborn photography session?

I will email you a set of guidelines before your shoot and if you were unsure about anything I would always be available by phone or email.

Do you take family or sibling photographs?

Yes. I always start with photos of just the baby and then if parents want to, photos of them individually with the baby and then a family one if you wish. If you have siblings you wish to be photographed too please inform me in advance.

How old does my baby need to be for 'now I can sit'?

This shoot is usually done between 6 and 8 months but varies as all babies are different. As soon as your baby is happily sitting without support and possibly even starting to crawl, they will be perfect for this shoot.

When do I need to book for 'now I can sit'?

As I get booked up early its always good to book in for roughly when they are 7months and then contact me once they are definitely sitting alone.
